A Little of My Mind

This is currently an experiment, nothing more than an attempt to relinquish my pent-up creativity or whatever you may call it. Do enjoy! Or don't, what do I care?

Okay, really? Are these the passwords you people come up with for your computers? REALLY??!!? Bwahahahahahahaha!

Please try to understand the minimum complexity rules for your sake. Never use birthdays (of any type that relate to you or your family), social security numbers, commonly used words, people's names (especially ones that you know or that are related to you), etc! If you aren't able to come up with something randomly, such as j3P9mn0 (randomly just came up with that, and the pattern, to me, is easy to follow and memorize), then use a random password generator. That's just one of MANY out there.

Anywho, this has been your public service announcement for the day. I bid you adieu.

Depressy Poem

Roses painted gold, who am I to be bold?
A chance at luck with a hint of risk, break the rules with a simple kiss.
Time passes, days full of fun,
Separated by rough tides, stranded under the sun.
All alone in your heart I stand; the wind picks up, blown away like sand.
Now a single fish abandoned out by the sea, where to go or what to be?

Finances: Manage Your Money, Properly

We're in tough times all across the world. Pinching pennies to be able to afford higher gas prices, higher prices on groceries, higher prices on just about everything else, and all the while still trying to save up as much money as possible for the future (family, vacations, and what-have-you). Among my numerous journeys online I have come across a website that can only be described as the savior of monetary sorrows. It's a website that actually wants to help you manage your money, to control what you are spending and where you are spending it with no strings attached.

If you haven't guessed it, Mint.com is what I am speaking of. I know there are other websites out there that can do just about the same thing, but Mint.com means well and costs nothing. It has been rated 5 stars by Money magazine and just as well in other highly regarded publications. All you have to do is sign in, go through a process of mapping out your expenses, and Mint will show you where you spend a majority of your money and where you could be saving. It also can help you to learn how much you should be spending where so as to reduce debt.

I've given Mint.com a try and I'm pretty sure it could help out others just as well. Due to its innovative take on free money management advice, I suggest you give it a try and see if it can benefit you, too!

Dream

Eyes close, heart slows, brain goes...

Off to a world full of insight, where pain and pleasure are a delight...

Light and dark no longer exist, and your hand can live without the fist...

The Yin becomes the Yang, hot becomes cold, and your reflection lives beside you...

Until the time you hear that sound, your brain resumes to the world around...

Bright, agitating, and restless the day begins anew.

Tech Plug: Circle Dock

I am an avid Windows user, and in that I'm also a bit of a tweaker (the non-drug type). While stumbling around online I ran across this nifty application that allows you to have a "dock" of icons appear around your mouse when you see fit. These icons can range from applications, to files, to shortcuts, to whatever you really want. You can even execute system commands, which I find relatively useful at work. Seeing as how I'm also one of those people who hate to have icons flooding their desktop, covering their amazingly beautiful desktop backgrounds, this program suits my needs quite well in concept.

Personally I see this application as something you'd want to use more on a desktop rather than a laptop, but it is able to be utilized on both with a decent array of shortcut keys. All-in-all it's a program to help you manage all the applications that you utilize on a common basis without having to put all of them on your desktop, and with just a click (or a shortcut key that you set) they appear for you to access around your mouse cursor.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Pants on the Ground

Really, people? REALLY? I know I may be a bit late on this, but still. There is no excuse for such a thing in this world. What level have we sunk down to?

Seriously.

That's all I have to say.

A Day to Remember!

Mark this as my first Blog here because, well, it is. For me it is a day to remember despite how fuzzy it may become somewhere down the line, and for you (the single person reading this because I'm sending you a link to do so, so you best read it) it is simply another boring read that you may just skim right through. As for the others who may someday read this, allow me to introduce myself: My name is James, I work in IT (hardware and networking), I procrastinate (though it's completely unintentional), I love writing, I hate reading (unless it's some of my favorite online websites or web-comics), I have high ambitions, I'm not too big on this social networking thing, and I'm a bit strange (so please forgive me if I'm not the most social person you've ever met). I could go into a huge egotistical self-discussion, but I'd rather not scare everyone away so soon.

I have plans for this little blip of space on the internet being hosted by Blogger in association with Google (I love Google, despite the fact that they will someday take over the world like Skynet). My plans consist of further expanding my horizons, understanding others' opinions on my own (among other things), exhausting my creativity, discussing the things I love and enjoy, getting to know some others and reading their thoughts/opinions, and so on.

To kick things off I am linking to a song that I enjoy by Deftones. This song makes me reminisce of things that I've never even experienced yet, to travel to places I've never been; to me it's somewhat a song of new beginnings. I believe that suits this post well - new beginnings. So on that note I will close off the first, fairly short post. I am actually writing this on and off while at work, which is never a good thing, so that is my excuse for posting so little. Again, it's just a brief little introduction to something larger in the long-run. We'll see how this experiment turns out.

Until next time,
-James
